Lemon-Aid Sunshine Float (Mood Bath)

[Rejuvenating, Detoxifying & Mood Uplifting]
Step into a bath as sweet & refreshing as a slice of lemon meringue pie on a hot summer’s day. The essential oils I use in this Mood Bath, combined with our yummy vanilla fragrance oil purifies the body while comforting the soul.

“Zoë Spirit” Music (anything soft and spiritual)
“Sunshine Blend” Shower Gelée (lemongrass, peppermint. sweet orange, tea tree)
One Cup of Powdered Milk
One Cup of Baking Soda
8 Drops of Lemongrass Essential Oil
10 Drops of "Delicious Vanilla" Fragrance Oil
Coconut & Papaya Soap Bar with Vanilla Beans (Optional)
Prepare a Lemon Spritzer with sparkling water and fresh squeezed lemon (fresh mint optional)
Vanilla Scented Jar Candle

The Preparation Ceremony: Allow the preparation of this bath to be a ceremony of joy and detoxification. Turn on your music. It does not have to be playing in the bathroom. Even soft background sound is fine. Begin with prayer. Simply give God thanks for purifying your mind, body and emotions. Affirm several times: "The joy of the Lord is my strength. Continue by praying in the Spirit if you like. As you’re praying, light your candle and place long side the tub. Turn off the light in your bathroom. Run your water. Add 2 squirts of our Sunshine Blend bath & shower gelée under facet. As foamy clouds form atop the streaming water add the powdered milk and baking soda. Use a large wooden or plastic spoon to stir gently. Drop in the oils and stir again. Bring in your lemon spritzer and place aside the tub to sip for refreshment. Now it's time to slip under the lusciously fragrant, billowy bubbles. Breath in rejuvenation, breath out weariness. Breath in joy, breathe out discontentment. Cleanse with the Sunshine Blend Bath & Shower Gelée and/or our mouth-watering Coconut & Papaya Soap Bar. I promise you, this bath will bring cheer and exuberance to the gloomiest of days. Float on float on.

Aromatic Bliss Pt. 4 (MOOD BATHING)

One of the things I enjoy most as an owner of a holistic day spa is the expression of bliss on the faces of my clients after an aromatherapy spa treatment. What's of more importance to me however is that they experience similar “bliss moments” at home. To help clients maintain the feeling of wellness everyday we suggest they start with our Mood Mist. These miracle mists are available in most of the Balancing Blends I wrote about in Part 2. Mood Mists offer the quickest way to ahhh moments any time or place. Being such a serious advocate of hydrotherapy I next encourage everyone to experience Aromatherapy in the bath. There is NOTHING like it!!! I've created a number of complete bath treatments called "Mood Baths” that take bathing to the realm of true rejuvenation and restoration.
Plunging in warm, aromatic waters offer beneath-the-surface solutions for emotional and physical issues one may be facing. Each bath awakens the senses and introduce antispasmodic, anti-inflammatory, cellular-stimulating, antiseptic or pain-relieving properties to the water — allowing for a more complete treatment. Such baths unravel the mind and allows it to gently stretch beyond natural limitations. Lighting a scented candle and sipping on a cup of aromatic tea to enhance the experience is recommended. I also recommend using a bath net sponge or exfoliating bath gloves instead of a wash cloth. Not only will they remove dead skin cells, they make for a more bubbly bath especially when using a good quality bath gel (hint, hint). Most of the bath components are available in bath & body shops and apothecaries across the country, for those who enjoy a good hunt. For the sake of convenience we have everything available online at www.AScentimentalJourney.com. Call me, I would love to help you build a basic Mood Bath Collection to suit your specific needs.

Can't wait to share my beguiling bath recipes. So you too can sequester yourself in pure, pleasing bliss and aromatic delights — A necessary indulgence indeed.
Have a blessed Good Friday. Luv Carmen

Aromatic Bliss Pt 3

Hello lovely friends. What a rewarding weekend. I was the guest on a one hour local Christian TV program Saturday. They named the interview Carmen Abercrombie's Scentimental Journey. It was the first time I was able to tell my life's story on camera, and it felt real good. It's something when I think of how only a few months ago I was too physically challenged to ever consider being on film. I'll tell you more about it later. But now I would like to continue on the subject of Aromatherapy.

NOT JUST ANY OIL WILL DO: There is a great difference between fragrance or perfume oils and essential oils. All fragrances transmit through our olfactory bulb to our limbic system (the part of our brain that controls memory and emotional response). However only 100% pure Aromatherapy grade essential oils have the God-given ability to trigger the body's natural healing process by stimulating the flow of blood and lymph fluid. Essential oils harnesses the life force of certain plants, woods and resins which trigger restoration and harmony of our physical body and mind, will and emotions (our body - soul systems). Breathe in the essential oils distilled from the marjoram plant and you may experience a bit of euphoria. Feel the cobwebs wash away as stimulating peppermint and rosemary oils clear and refresh your mind. This is what I call “True Aromatherapy”. Aromatherapy beautifies as essential oils are quickly absorbed and can penetrate the skin easily. As an esthetician I love creating beautiful customized treatments for soul-soothing, de-toxifying facials.

HOW DOES IT WORK: You can feel the therapeutic effects of essential oils by simply inhaling the vapors which are composed of tiny living plant molecules. Their aroma molecules are translated into a signal by the receptor cells with in the nasal cavity. This signal is sent to the olfactory bulb and then on to the limbic part of the brain. It is believed that the essential oil aroma activates the “pharmacy” within our brains which are our neurochemicals such as serotonin and endorphins. The neurochemicals have there own special language which our brain uses to communicate with our mind-body systems. Pain relief and other physical effects are also experienced when neurochemicals are released. Don't forget to visit me at www.AScentimentalJourney.com for all of your aromatic needs. I can't wait to get into my delicious "Bliss Baths" recipes tomorrow, so stay tuned.
Have an amazing week. Blissful Blessings, Carmen

Aromatic Bliss Pt. 2

A WELLNESS SECRET OF THE RICH & FAMOUS: Many of the worlds rich and famous make serious investments in Aromatherapy treatments and custom blended oils to settle their nerves, tantalize their senses and beautify their bodies. Because of the work demands and lifestyles that are often out of control, stars are spending big bucks on rejuvenating essential oils and their luxurious treatments. I’ll never forget reading in the paper that the late Princess Diana listed her weekly $500 Aromatherapy expense as part of her divorce settlement.

WHY SUCH AN ALLEGIANCE? I believe it's because Aromatherapy helps to bring balance and restoration to the mind-body system. Aromatherapy is both holistic and practical in that it can protect the body’s life saving immune system, as well as help with everyday household tasks. Natural fragrant essences can stabilize emotions and elevate the spiritual vibration in even the most hostile environment.

AN AFFORDABLE NECESSARY INDULGENCE: The real secret is that Aromatherapy is an affordable, necessary indulgence. Not everyone has the means to spend hundreds of dollars each month on Aromatherapy treatments, nor do they have to. The wonderful thing about Aromatherapy is how affordable it is to practice on one’s own. Essential oils average range is from $6.00 to $35 for 1/6 of an ounce, though there are a few precious oils such as rose of altar that can go as high as $100. When I started A Scentimental Journey the Lord anointed me to create several outrageous blends that remain best sellers for us. Our Balancing Blends include "Calm Zone", "Sinus Relief", Creative Energy", "PMS", "Menopausal Blend", "Sensual". "Home Sweet Home", "Sweet Dreams", "Spiritual Blend", "Healing Skin Treatment", "Recovery" and "Muscle Rescue". Each beautiful blend is available in Undiluted and Ready To Use form, as well as a complete bath & body collection. Imagine taking an evening bath with the fragrance bubbles of sweet oranges, lavender and clary sage? That is what's in our "Sweet Dreams" blend. But there are hundreds of easy recipes and preparations anyone can use to create amazing, soul soothing formulas for personal, home and office use. For a list of essential oils and their benefits stroll down to the end of my blog and click. You'll find my Aromatherapy shop online. Stay tuned...

Aromatic Bliss Pt. I

My grandparents live on a farm in St George South Carolina. My grand-mommy Emma Jane was an herbalist, and a faith healer. She had a lovely garden where she grew the most beautiful flowers and herbs. I'm so grateful to have been given her gift with herbs and her faith for healing. I've have studied and practiced Aromatherapy for 16 years now and I love it. It gives me great pleasure to teach workshops and classes. Many of our best selling products are from our Balancing Blends Aromatherapy Collection. So I thought it would be great to usher in spring with a few posts on the subject. This will be my first.

God created us with the biological makeup to benefit from plants in many marvelous ways, and Aromatherapy is one of them. Since recorded history essential plant essences have been used spiritually, medicinally, for burial use, beauty, as well as romance. In today’s world of stress, strain, heartache and body pain the practice of the ancient art of Aromatherapy is a true blessing more than ever. It is time that we look to nature once again to find our way back to feeling really, really. good and even looking better. Stay tuned...

Be sure to check out the Aromatherapy department at http://www.AScentimentalJourney.com (or stroll all the way down the page and click) it's filled with the benefits and uses of many important essential oils.
Be blessed, Carmen
